Neil has a Job Offer/Contract 22nd September 2008

Logged onto Neil's computer this afternoon and there was a job offer/contract waiting for him.

He hasn't come home yet and looked at it and I haven't told him about it either, it will be a nice surprise when he gets home.

In one part of the contract it states 'Should you accept this offer of employment, your anticipated start date will be 20th October 2008'.

After all this time of looking into emigrating and now being faced with a contract is a bit weird.  I can't discribe it.  Its like.... is it to good to be true?

The company are now appliying for (LMO) for those who don't know what this means its a Labour Market Opinion that's where they assess the market to see if there is a labour shortage and it will take about 5 weeks.

The next step after this, we will be in touch with their immigration consultant.

My heart is beating like mad now, we could be over there before Christmas.

Updated 15th August 2008

Neil likes the contract and all we are waiting for is for it to arrive in the post so we can sign it and send it back.

Updated 17th August 2008

A big package arrived on Friday from Fed Ex and it was all the information from the company.  Neil has lots and lots of reading to do.

24th August 2008

We have now sent the contact off (posted Friday 22nd August) and its making its way to Edmonton, its all starting to get very exciting.  Neil has to now apply to APEGGA which is The Associtaion of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta to gain his P Eng in Canada.

8th September 2008

Neil's handing in his notice today, he has to give one month at least but he may work a bit longer than that depending on everything else with the emigration process.

22nd September 2008

We received our documents (Application for Temporary Work Permit)  that have been prepared by our Immigration Consulants.
