I plucked up the courage to phone my dentist to have my other wisdom tooth taken out. I was booked in for Monday 7th July at 10:15am. Then I receive a letter a few days later to say it has to be cancelled and could I please phone the office to rearrange another appointment.
I got myself fired up to do it now the date has to be changed.
I have had one pulled out already, what an experience that was. It was my top right one last time. I am such a wimp, the dentist sat me down in her chair and as soon as I sat down I started to panic. She started to inject my gum to make it numb. Then I turned white and started to feel very faint. It must have been so funny to her and I must say she did have a giggle at me.
She managed to pull it out in the end, no trouble at all. I didn't feel anything but the sound of cracking wasn't very nice. As this was so easy to pull out I have decided to have another taken out this one being my bottom left, but now this said tooth is giving me pain and it is now a case of it is going to come out.
Appointment booked: Thursday 10th July at 11:15am, what the hell am I doing!!!!
Update 9th July 2008
Yesterday the dentist phoned me again to cancel my appointment for a second time. New date and time is Friday 11th July at 3:15pm. I am starting to think this is an omen telling me not to do it, I am still having painful headaches. My dentist is going into hospital so I am seeing someone else which doesn't help matters.
Update 11th July
The day came, I went in early and they managed to see me early as well. The problem was with my bottom left wisdom tooth and the dentist suggested me having my top left tooth pulled out instead. He said that the top one may be causing the pain for the bottom tooth when I am chewing food and it is grinding together, plus the top one was all the way through.
I reluctantly agreed that the top one must come out, he injected the top one to numb it then flushed the bottom one out with some so called magic potion. Then started to proceed with the extraction. A few wiggles later and it was out.
That's when I started to feel faint and he had to lay me down in the chair, so embarrassing. This extraction did hurt more than the last one. I have asked to keep the tooth but can't bare to even look at it at the moment still feeling a bit faint. The left side of my lip feels weird and feels like someone has punched me.
How soft am I?
Updated 14th July
Well my headache has stopped and the tooth ache is not as painful anymore.
I can't chew on the left side of my mouth still and brushing it and around the area is a little painful. Drinking hot drinks is also a bit uncomfortable.
I am sure by the end of the week everything will be fine. I have kept the tooth but I can't get a very good picture of it with my camera to show you, its a shame because it is quite big.
