Six days away from home

I'm Back

This week was the week that I went away with work, we set up a new store at St Paul which is about 3 hours away from Edmonton, it wasn't a big place really.  Its claim to fame is a UFO landing apparently, not sure if I believe it but they were milking it in the town.  Most things were called UFO something or other.

The work was intense, we started at 8am every day and finished at 6pm there was alot of stock to put out and the logistics of it all was amazing.

I've learnt alot about how products are placed in the store and the way in which colours are displayed, and keeping the "flow" going throughout the store so items are appealing to customers.

I really enjoyed myself, there wasn't one moment you could stop, it was Go Go Go all the time.  I have even lost a bit of weight it was like work boot camp!  We went out for our evening meal and crashed out at the hotel every night, it was quite exhausting.

Neil missed me, I surpose he hasn't really been used to me going away as I have never left him, only apart from when I went to Oz with my mum for a month, that was sometime ago.

The head merchandiser I went with has now said that my name is now on the "list" for any further stores they set up.  Her team was the main team of three people and then they poach people from our other stores that are willing to help.  Once your name is on the "list" it is really hard to get off it, so I'm told.  I must have done a really good job!  I'm so proud of myself.

Roll on the next job!
