Day Off

Neil and Cassie's day out

Its been none stop since we got here and we have nearly managed to get over the jet lag, 10:12pm and I have managed to stay awake for a the first night without falling alseep at 8pm or wanting to.

It was about time that Neil and I had a day out and so we went to the City Centre.  Neil wanted to go to the library where they were having a talk about the current financial crisis in the hope that it would give us a bit of an insight to what they would be expecting in Alberta.  But unfortunatley Neil came away not really gaining anything from it than he has already read in books and other economic reviews from the UK.

We had a look round the city then went to the festival of trees that was being held at Shaw Convention Centre.  I thought it was going to be selling Christmas decorations but it was an exhibition of Christmas trees that were decorated by several different companies from around Edmonton.  Exhibits by shops etc etc, it would be great if you had kids with you as there was lots to do for them they would have a fun time.

There was a gingerbread and Cake competition that people had made, some of the cakes were fantastic, here are a few pics

After we had finished at the Festival of trees we headed for Whyte Ave and had a look round there.  We had tea at the Keg which was very nice.  I have fillet steak (m/r) with Blue cheese which was good, I took a picture of that as well (I know, what am I like) and a nice glass of red wine to wash it down with.
