The Packers are in - 20th November 2008

John Mason, England / AMJ Campbell, Canada

Well they came here this morning at around 8:45am and as I am typing this they are of course still here (11:24am).

We pointed to them everything that was going, most items were in a back room and another load was in a van outside.  At first they started to pack up the items in the Plastic Boxes that we placed everything in.  I only know this because Neil told me.

When the guy was in to quote he said that everything was going to be repacked into cardboard boxes because if we pack items we are not insured.  Also he said if things were left in plastic boxes they would condensate on the ship and mould would grow on our clothes etc etc.

When we informed the packers this they were saying "how can they condensate, you can't even breath in them containers".  I informed them that this is what the guy said when he came.  It left me feeling a bit uncomfortable, anyway I decided to take it further so I phoned head office to inform them and they said they are surposed to pack things into the cardboard boxes.  Then she said did you not tell them to take the items out of the plastic boxes but to be honest with you, beware I going to go off into a rant now!

If I am told things are going to be repacked into carboard boxes why do I then need to tell them to do this when they should already know.  As if I don't have enough things to do than to follow the packers around all day to make sure what they are doing is right, I'm not a bloody packer am I!   Cassie, now breath.

The company phoned them on their phones and they had to unpack everything they had packed in plastic boxes and repack them into the cardboard boxes.  I think they don't like me now because I had to get them to do it all over again, but I don't care.  At the end of the day its our stuff they are packing and we are the ones that will be affected if it is wrong.

Don't let these guys push you around or make you feel uncomfortable.

Apart from that they are fine at the moment.

We received the Corporate Instruction Form to fill out yesterday, so last night Neil and I were going round all the items we packed to price it all up.  I have just finished off the forms this morning.

Once the packers have gone with our stuff I think I will feel a bit better, there is lots of stuff just hanging around in boxes and cluttered.  Your mind is on what you need so I managed to pack my suitcase a few days ago and all important documents are in an envelope in my hand luggage for taking on the plane.

Updates to follow if needed.

All our stuff will get in there
