Immigration Journal

The story of two people who emigrated from the UK to Ontario, Canada July 2006.

Speedy reply from CHC

As I mentioned before, we sent the details relating to my husbands kids to CHC as requested on Saturday. On Wednesday we got a reply - to say we were shocked is an understatement.

After waiting 17 months for contact, suddenly we are communicating by return post.

This time they included a pre-printed form for my husband to sign which basically states that he relinquishes the right to sponsor his kids now or in the future for immigration purposes. The letter had to be witnessed and stamped by a Commissioner of Oaths, which we found out meant a solicitor.

We found one that could do the deed that very afternoon, so off we went to the solicitor, got it signed, stampled etc (£5)and posted it off.

Lets hope CHC reply just as quickly to this one.

On Friday we travelled to Spain to visit my aunt & uncle who emigrated there last year. We were only there 4 days, but it was a lovely break. Unfortunately there was no brown envelope on the mat on our return, but here's hoping.
