Lorry stuck in driveway!

Yesterday we got our regular oil delivery, but with a difference. The tanker got stuck in the snow on our driveway!

We have had quite a lot of snow lately and our driveway is quite long. However, we haven’t bothered to get it cleared as our truck can navigate it quite easily. But the oil lorry couldn’t get up the gentle slope. He got to the bend on the drive and got completely stuck; he couldn’t go forward or back.

Hubby went out to see if he could help, but the driver had already called for the tow truck. He did however, manage to fill our oil tank as he had a 100 foot pipe which just reached our connection from where he was stuck, so that was lucky.

When the tow truck arrived it took about half an hour for them to eventually get the tanker free of the snow and at an angle to be able to pull him out. We watched the whole thing from the warmth of the house. We also noticed that one of our resident squirrels – the one who owns the front garden was sitting on the deck post watching all the commotion. I think he was wondering what the two lorries were doing on his land!

The pics below show the lorries stuck and the squirrel watching intently.
