The story of two people who emigrated from the UK to Ontario, Canada July 2006.

Well report back

Got a call this evening from the realtor saying the water quality test was excellent. So we agreed to release the contract meaning that all our conditions have been met and the house will be ours on July 14th.

For information we have paid the following:

House inspection - $400

Well test - $187.50

We will have to pay a lawyer for the legal stuff (conveyancing etc) and this will apparently cost in the region of $2,500.

We also paid a $5k deposit on the property which is held in trust by the vendors realtor until the sale goes through. If we were to pull out of the sale we would forefit this deposit and it would go to the vendor. We should do this in the UK to give security on the sale to stop people pulling out etc!
