Immigration Journal

The story of two people who emigrated from the UK to Ontario, Canada July 2006.

Bummer of a day!

This morning our realtor called to say that the first offer people had decided to firm up their offer, even though they have not yet sold their house. This means that our offer is null and void - bummer!

We are both pretty depressed about the whole thing as we leave Canada on Sunday, so the chances of us finding another property before we leave and getting the offer in place etc is pretty low.

Both us and our relator immediately hit MLS again and found a few more properties, some of which we viewed this afternoon.

We saw 5 properties, none of which were what we really wanted. One was a spectacular property on a hill with great views but it was not completed and the builder was selling pretty much as it was so it would cost a small fortune to compete as the whole basment needed completing, as did the decking, groundwork, driveway etc etc.

We have a few more to see tomorrow, but not holding out much hope!

Cheer Up

Oh dear, I suspected that might happen.

Its not the end of the world, you have an idea where you want to live now, if you have to rent for a bit you will have a chance to check things out even more, so maybe the silver liinng is that you might have rushed into something you may have regretted later on based on trying to get everything sorted in a couple of weeks? I didnt even know the corner I live in existed until Id been here 6 months or more.

Hopefully your realtor now has a really good idea exactly what you are looking for, so perhaps she will finger that perfect property for you later on. Fingers crossed, enjoy the rest of your trip!
