A traditional fishing village with catches of mainly anchovy and sardines, Benajarafe has a population of approximately 3,000, sandy beaches and safe clean bathing, plenty of restaurants serving srumpious food in delightful surroundings, an excellent garden centre and all usual facilities.
During 2005 a new promenade stretching the length of the beach and lined by gardens and palm trees was created, enhancing the natural beauty of the town and its low-rise white buildings. A new promenade extension will be develop in some months from Los Laures to Chilches
