Trip to South Africa

Well what an experience!

We left for South Africa at the end March for three weeks mainly to visit both sets of parents as time is running out for some of them healthwise.

So this meant visiting Jo'burg and Cape Town. With my wife's extended family all living in Jo'burg, this is where we spent most of our time, visiting relatives almost every day/night etc... My parents live in Cape Town, so off we went there for a while too.

When we got back to Jo'burg, we paid a six day visit to Dikhololo Game Reserve in the North West Province. It was excellent.

Of course we also had to get stuck in Spain for 4 days trying to get back to the UK at considerable expense due to the Icelandic Volcanic Ash fiasco. Funny how no-one is prepared to pay any compensation, not the airline (Iberia), travel insurance or the credit card company (Barclaycard) that the tickets were bought with.

Insurance is just one big scam.
