Another week closer.......

Posted on Sunday 11 May 2008 at 11:48

The weather this week has been fantastic. Just as I like it espeically as I have had a couple of days off so I could take advantage.  We are still busy getting the house ready for sale.  As we are keen to move asap, we have put together a schedule of works to ensre we are ready by the end of the month.  Today, even though the weather is grea and we should be out both man & boy are busy working.  I am sorting stuff, getting ready for the car boot. I roped in my brother to help as I haven't a clue. Never been to a car boot so it will be any experience regardless of what we sell.  We still have quite a lot of books and china to sell from the mother -in -law which has been sittin gin boxes for the last 3 years. In addtion , I am looking at all our possessions, thinking if it is suitable selling material. Half of me wants to be ruthless another part of me thinks I still want some familiar items around. I need to tackle this in a logical way.

Work is a busy as ever, plans are being made for the end of the year. Secretly I am thinking - I don't care as I won't be here. Feel a bit guilty as I do like my job and the team I work with but I don't want to give them any indication at the moment that a our move is planned for sooner rather than  later.  My other half is also going through the same feelings. He is in charge of a  multi million £ redevelopment at his work but he is thinking he will never see it completed.  Our son, "N" on the other other hand is just waiting for the day for us to say - hand in your notice - we are going!!

After our last visit to St Lucia, we made some good contacts and started putting out feelers regarding work possibilities for "N". He is a qualified electrician and alarm engineer. the feeling wad there would be work available but he would probably need to set himself up as a small business. He has already said that I could have the priviledge of doing the admin/ accounts   work. He is so generous and thoughtful!!

A final note today - thank you for the encouraging comments. We can't wait to move and i am sure that we will fit intisland life. it felt like home on our visit in April.  I can't wait to meet new people and have a different quality of life. Hopefully not to be bound the routine of having to go to work and be a bit more of indulgent to our wishes/needs.  It feel great to working towards a dream.
