The home & garden

Well owning our own home for the first time in nearly 11 years is (apart from emptying our wallets at an alarming rate) pretty satisfying. If nothing else I go to bed at night so knackered Im comatose as soon as my head hits the pillow. So far I have painted, 2 bedrooms,  bathroom, 1 toilet, the laundry and the hallway. I have also chopped, dug, spread and moved a lot of the garden and it`s starting to look nice. I have to say the people who had it before must have had a picture fetish as I have never been in a house with so many picture hooks in the walls in my life - 10 in the living room, 12 in the kitchen and family room and don`t even ask about the bedrooms!! The walls are now full of pollyfilla while I try to disguise the holes where the hooks were.

The garden is starting to look much better (the mature garden was actually an overgrown jungle) and all the weeds are now gone. Im having fun with the water board though trying to find where my water meter and off switch is for the water, aparently it`s left hand side of driveway, right hand side of fence, slightly back . So far no-one can find it (the next door neighbours don`t know where theirs is either, which makes me feel a bit better) so Im going to accost the meter reader if I catch him on his rounds and make him show me where it is.  I put the retic on the other day and as I was wandering around the garden I noticed that one in the garden bed wasn`t on - I went up to it and twisted the nozzle which abruptly came off in my hand and I got smacked in the face with a jet of water that would have made a french riot policeman proud.

I went down the beach the other day with the bairn for a few hours, I was wandering around in my bikini, showing off my tan and saggy boobs, doing my Pamela Anderson impression - a bloke walked passed and grinned at me and I thought yeh I`ve still got it - until my daughter pointed out that the string from my tampon was dangling out the side of my bikini bottoms - Isn`t life amusing at times folks?? If there was an Olympic event for getting dressed on a beach and running off in a cloud of sand I would have won it.I

On that note folks I will say goodnight!!

We don't have a meter reader come out. It's all done automatically around here - unless he waits until everyone is out before creeping around the house ;)
