Interviews & stuff

So I had my first job interview on Australian soil this week and very strange it was too. I spent the night before tchucking stuff out of my wardrobe and trying it on, then trying another combo and finding stuff is now too big for me YEEHA!! It was weird wearing  proper clothes (shorts & thongs don`t count) I tried on my heels (first time in 8 months) and wobbled about a bit. I then hatched the cunning plan - I would take my big bag with my heels in it and wear my flat pumps on the way to the interview.

So I got up at 6 am and began nervously pacing about until it was time to get ready, why is it that you always manage to poke yourself in the eye with the mascara at the most awkward times? So after re-applying  my eye make up and wiping away the shitty black tear stains from my face I decided I didn`t look too bad for an older bird. I wore a black blouse (which was a bit revealing in the bosom department so I had to pin it for decency sake - it was ok though you couldn`t see it) and a grey knee length skirt. I got on the bus and jumped of 5 minutes later at the right stop, then had a look round some shops as I was about 25 minutes early. Coming out of a tile warehouse  I pulled my heels out of my magic bag and changed shoes, then wobbled round the corner to the office.

I was greeted by the company director who showed me through to the interview room, he said that the Admin manager would be sitting in on the interview, and sure enough in she came. He asked me why I had applied for the job, which turned out to be the only question he asked me, apart from "what pay are you expecting??" The admin manager sat there for the first 5 minutes, then said she had to go and never came back!!  I wobbled out 15 minutes later, having listened to him for most of that time, explaining about the company and I can honestly say I was feeling very puzzled by it all.

I should find out Friday or Monday if I have the job or not, so we will see what happens.

Hubby was supposed to be away with work for a couple of weeks but the flight was cancelled due to the cyclone that`s been hanging about - he`ll probably have to go next week instead but at least he will be here for my birthday on Sunday !

I finished painting the bahroom pink yesterday and it doesn`t look too bad (the pinkness has been toned down with the white ceiling and door, as well as aluminium blinds) if n othing else it looks clean and fresh and most definately nothing like magnolia.

well that`s it for now - see ya all later folks!!
