H came home last night with a note from her teacher to say she was being awarded an honour certificate and would we like to attend the assembly. So off we all trot to the school this morning and attend the assembly. I have to say H loves school here and I think that while she may not be stretched mentally, the way the school interacts with the kids and parents is excellent and results in much better mentally & socially rounded kids. I was so proud watching her go up and accept her award for outstanding commitment, manners and respect, I thought it was great they way they made a big fuss of all the kids achievements no matter how small. The only problem we had was when they sang the National Anthem (you when you`re not sure whether to keep your gob shut or stand there and pretend your singing & know the words without actually making any noise) we just kept our gobs shut on this occasion but we really need to learn it.
Hubby has his 40th birthday on Sunday, so I got him a BBQ, which he is pretty pleased with, he said he didn`t want a party or a fuss but I`ve insisted that we at least have the relatives round for a couple of hours. Im going to be busy cleaning & baking tomorrow, it will probably be a bit mad with 5 kids and a pup tearing about (I just hope we can kick them into the garden to play for a bit).
Hubbys mate was over from Melbourne on a course, so he came round for dinner on Wednesday night, we haven`t seen him in 2 years, so it was great to catch up. They really love it over there and have settled in well - he was trying to convince us that it`s better than WA but I`m happy to say we`re pretty content here at the mo (we are easy pleased I guess!!
