ImageI very much like living in Australia. I like the weather, (I have a health condition which is better in warm weather), and I like that I can still dry my clothes outside in the middle of winter because the sun's shining.

I like that if it's grey and raining it will probably be sunny the next day because the weather systems move so fast where I am.

I like the attitude here - friendly people overall. I have found none of the snob factor barriers to opening a business that I found in the UK - everyone is interested in what we're doing and supportive.

I really enjoy the outdoor lifestyle here.

I enjoy finding new friends who are intelligent, thinking Australians who can have a night out and still end up discussing the plight of indigenous Australians as well as having a bloody good laugh.

I like that there's no edge to the mothers I meet at the school gate who invite me up to their place and that they're not assessing me to see if I'm the 'right sort of person' or 'PLU' (People Like Us - <shudder> )

I like the mix of races and nationalities here, and enjoy finding out about people's backgrounds if they're obviously from another country. Settler's stories are fabulous.

I enjoy the day to day life, chatting with anyone who's in the supermarket. I think I'm generally a curious person so people like talking if you ask them questions. They're quite flattered by your interest I think.

I love the outdoor environment here. The diversity is amazing and I have to take a camera with me every time I walk the dog because I'd miss something if I didn't. I live in an astonishingly beautiful part of NSW, and in the valley, I can watch storms rolling in with lightning below me, or watch it rain over Mt Solitary whilst I am dry on the other side.

I like the houses here, mostly well built and solid, and the market is reasonable - $400K for a nice 4 bed house with a good big garden. The only premium is for the view here but you can always have a view if you go for a walk.

I love the cafe culture and the good coffee served. I love the variety of food and am pleased with the organic and whole food co-op set up here.

I like the alternative lifestyles people choose, (lots of artists up here), and people seem very free to live without criticism of who they are.
I love that my MIL is now only 20 mins drive away instead of 24 hours on a plane.

I love the school my children attend that gives them the freedom to be themselves and is helping them become better humans.

I like that we've been here since Easter, (although visited many many times before), and that we've been busy each weekend outdoors or with family or doing touristy things and we haven't even got to the beach yet because there's so much to see and do here.

There are things I don't like of course, but you asked me if I liked it. Yes, I love it. I don't pine for the UK and I believe that home is where you are and that life is what you make it.
