ImageSpain has beaten out Australia as the ‘Happiest’ destination for British expats, despite almost 40% of British expatriates (expats) selecting Australia as their top destination country, according to a new survey by BritishExpats.com and global foreign exchange provider OzForex. The survey was carried out in September 2007 and had over 1,000 respondents.

ImageContract professionals on existing 457 Visas and those seeking entry into Australia are being warned to tread with caution when signing on to conditions under Labour Agreements with on-hire agencies. Entity Solutions, which manages the engagement of 2,500 contract professionals is concerned that in the short-term rush to be first to market, individuals on 457 Visas may be left high and dry by on-hire agencies that may not be able to continue meeting the strict requirements in the long run.

British schools outside of the UK are performing just as well, if not better, than many schools in the UK. Following the announcement of GCSE and A-Level exam results for 2007 the Council of British International Schools (COBIS) did a survey of its member schools to see how British Schools outside of the UK were performing in comparison with schools back home.

Canada to accept up to 265,000 new immigrants in 2008 Print E-mail

ImageThe Honourable Diane Finley, Minister of Citizenship and Immigration, announced that Canada expects to welcome between 240,000 and 265,000 newcomers in 2008. The target is set out in the 2007 Annual Report to Parliament on Immigration tabled today in the House of Commons. The report provides information on immigration activities in 2006 and outlines the immigration plan for 2008.
