Visa Application Centre Network to Reach Global Proportions Print E-mail

ImageThe Government of Canada is planning to expand and standardize its visa application centre (VAC) network into a new global model, Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism Minister Jason Kenney announced today. “Our goal is for there to be a global VAC network, one with worldwide coverage and services standardized across all locations,” said Minister Kenney.

Australia - Business Numbers Rise Print E-mail

The number of actively trading businesses in Australia increased by 3.6% in 2009-10 and 0.4% in 2010-11 according to figures released today by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS). This is due to an increase in new business registrations, as well as a decline in the exit rate of businesses.

The International Qualification Network (IQN) website serves as a virtual space for employers, regulatory bodies, governments and organizations serving immigrants to capitalize on promising qualification assessment and recognition practices.

Australia's unemployment rate increased 0.1 percentage points to 5.3 per cent in November 2011 Print E-mail

ImageThe seasonally adjusted Australian unemployment rate increased 0.1 percentage points to 5.3 per cent in November, as announced by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) today. The ABS reported the number of people employed decreased by 6,300 to 11,457,100 in November. The decrease in employment was driven by a decrease in full-time employment, down 39,900 people to 8,026,300, and was offset by an increase in part-time employment, up 33,600 people to 3,430,800.

ImageCitizenship and Immigration Canada will make the application process easier while saving $4.2 million over the next three years, by moving more of its business online, Minister Jason Kenney announced last month. This change will simplify the application process and make it more accessible to applicants. On line services allow people to apply whenever and wherever they want, with online tools to help navigate the immigration process and fill out forms.
